Science with Johnny Ball

The Brief
Staffordshire University asked Humanoid to provide video coverage and highlights of a special Christmas lecture with guest speaker Johnny Ball.
The Solution
We set up three cameras to capture the talk and scientific demonstrations from all angles, then interviewed Johnny and guests for the highlights.
The Result
Staffs used the highlights to promote its series of guest lectures on science, making the full coverage available online for those who missed the talk.
Humanoid returned to Staffordshire University’s new Science Centre this week to film a Christmas lecture with veteran TV presenter Johnny Ball.
Best remembered for hosting BBC popular science and technology programme ‘Think of a Number’ in the late 70s, Ball enthralled the crowd of all ages with lively demonstrations and anecdotes about science’s greatest pioneers. In a nod to the Christmas lectures introduced by Michael Faraday, he tied great discoveries of the past to current world issues, as well as speculating on the wonders of future technology.
Attended by secondary school students, undergraduates, local dignitaries and members of the public, the lecture is the latest in a series of science-themed talks held at the Centre. Humanoid covered the event from four angles, then spoke to excited audience members outside the lecture theatre.
The lecture highlights were published through the university’s social media outlets.
