How are you using video in 2024?

At the start of 2024, we took a look at our video predictions for this 12 months. Now we’re nearly halfway through the year, we wanted to see if there was an increase in these trends or if something else had crept in.
A re-cap of our predictions for video in 2024
In January, we looked at three technical trends we thought would emerge more over the course of this year. They included:
- Vertical video for more than just TikTok or reels.
- Video length reducing to short, snappy bites.
- AI being used to generate video.
Interestingly, in our current survey https://forms.gle/gLcGnsPnavVNxULn7 we’ve seeing the trend for AI starting to emerge. The survey is still live so we don’t know full results as yet, but it is interesting to see the increase in AI in such a short space of time. There is still chance to add your thoughts via https://forms.gle/gLcGnsPnavVNxULn7 and enter our prize draw to win a day’s filming session with us as a result.
What else is emerging in video in 2024?
If we could all predict future trends then the world would be a far less interesting place! What we’re actually seeing in 2024 are the following:
- Live video streams. While this is not necessarily something new, it is something on the increase. The majority of platforms are giving us all the option to go ‘live’ and start streaming content. For B2B, we might start seeing in-person events with a live stream. Balancing audio quality for you in-person and online audience will be key here.
- Shoppable videos. This one is a newer trend with the ability for viewers to click through to products and items. One to keep an eye on for university tours, product demos and more. But also how it can be incorporated into other trends,
- User-generated content (UGC). UGC is again not a new trend online but is emerging more and more for video. Brands are starting to encourage sharing of their products not just in images but also in video. Different to influencers with thousands (and more) of followers, this is for anyone to engage with their brands and they in turn to share this content. The modern ‘tweet’ back to an individual from a brand account.
Share your thoughts and win a day filming with us
Since we started Humanoid in 2009, video has changed. We’re watching video on TikTok, YouTube, Reels as well as on websites, within training programmes, at exhibitions and more. And why we are watching continues to evolve as well. We’re watching influencers, finding product reviews, to learn new skills, understand more about businesses and more.
We would like to know how you are using video currently or hoping to use video so we can shape our service to deliver you the video you need most effectively and cost-efficiently.
