“Career Pathways” Series
The Brief
The Marketing team at the City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College asked Humanoid to produce a series of promotional videos to introduce secondary students to their career pathway system, while demonstrating the College’s world-class facilities and high teaching standards.
The Solution
We developed the SFC’s marketing material into a voiceover script and set of interview questions, to prompt quotes on each of the key messages. Two camera crews captured interviews and footage, which were edited into snappy summaries of each pathway.
The Result
The Sixth Form College were very impressed with their promotional videos and display them prominently on the homepage for each pathway, as well as playing them regularly on open days. The edits were later easily re-tuned to accommodate for changes in the curriculum.
Humanoid has worked with the City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College to produce a series of exciting videos, promoting their educational pathways and showcasing the college’s new facilities.
The videos featured footage from every specialist area of the new campus and included twenty eight interviews from students and staff, introducing school leavers and prospective students to an adult learning environment.
Each video focused on a different career “pathway” and its related subjects – part of a unique system developed by the college to encourage students to begin laying the foundations to achieve their long-term goals. Pathways included STEM subjects; Sports & Leisure; the Performing Arts; Education, Society & Health; Business, Finance & Law; and Enabling A-levels.
Two further videos focus on the Sixth Form College itself, combining messages interviewees across all pathways to talk about the atmosphere and facilities at the new building.
“The Sixth Form College’s new campus in Stoke’s University Quarter is a stand out example of the investment that’s been made in the area over the past few years. It’s great to see that the college is now offering a first-class facility and solid educational pathways for 16-18 year olds.”
