2013’s Youth Heroes
The Brief
Youth Heroes organisers asked Humanoid to provide coverage of their first prizegiving ceremony. The highlights should introduce the awards, pay tribute to the night’s winners and capture the performances and features.
The Solution
We used a 4-camera setup to cover all key events throughout the ceremony. Surrounding the event, one crew interviewed organisers and selected guests, while another captured live performances and atmosphere.
The Result
The resulting 3-minute highlights edit was enthusiastically received and circulated to all nominees as a memento of the evening. The video was used by the organisers to promote and widely publicise future awards.
Humanoid lead a celebration of young achievers at Salford City Stadium this Thursday, as co-sponsors and official videographers of the Salford Youth Heroes Awards 2013.
Organised locally by Salford Youth For Christ, the Awards were conceived as a grassroots response to the London riots of summer 2011 – seeking to recognise inspirational young people who have made an outstanding contribution to their communities.
Attended by Salfordians, nominees, journalists and MP for Salford Hazel Blears, the evening began with drinks and a three-course dinner, followed by the prize giving ceremony.
Sponsor representatives, including Humanoid’s own Martyn Lomax, took to the stage to present awards for accomplishments including courage and bravery, academic achievement, contribution to the arts and inspirational response to illness or disability.
Humanoid interviewed prize winners and captured the entire evening (including an impromptu “Harlem Shake”), producing a video of the highlights.
