Children in Need
The Brief
BBC North asked Humanoid to capture video footage of their “Gangnam Style” flash mob and other fundraising efforts for Children in Need 2012.
The Solution
We worked with a BBC crew to shoot footage of the various activities around MediaCityUK, interviewing organisers and releasing the edited highlights.
The Result
The resulting uplifting video proved popular with all the BBC staff involved, creating a buzz around MediaCity about their Children in Need fundraising.
The Humanoid team fulfilled a lifelong ambition this Friday, working with the BBC to cover a fundraising effort for Children in Need’s annual charity appeal.
The video features BBC staff in costume, Premier League football mascots and famous faces – including Blue Peter’s Barney Harwood – forming a dance flash mob in the MediaCityUK piazza.
Over a hundred dancers of all ages gathered to perform to PSY’s 2012 viral smash hit “Gangnam Style,” cheer the Premier League mascots in a race and have their picture taken with the FA Cup trophy, on display in BBC headquarters. Children in Need’s own mascot Pudsey Bear put in an appearance, cheering the crowd and posing with dancers and onlookers for a photo op.
The highlights video was shot and edited for the BBC’s Internal Communications, and marks Humanoid’s first collaboration with their world-famous MediaCityUK neighbour.
