The “Staffroom” Series

The Brief
Staffordshire University asked Humanoid to create a series of presenter-driven videos explaining the application process, student finance and benefits of further education. They should follow a precise script, including all key facts.
The Solution
We worked with the University’s marketing team to develop a comprehensive script. We cast presenters and shot them against a greenscreen using a teleprompt, then overlaid motion graphics to illustrate key points and add visual interest.
The Result
The resulting campaign delivers 20 minutes of engaging and essential content that is a popular feature on University open days and reached an audience of thousands. It is now one of the key resources available to prospective students.
Humanoid produced a collection of presenter-led information videos for new website The Staffroom this September.
Designed to condense the key information that students should know before applying for higher education, each video takes the form of a talk by a young presenter, enhanced with motion graphics to more clearly communicate important points.
Through the Staffroom web portal, these summaries are made available as a teaching aid to schools across the United Kingdom – a concise, high-impact alternative to the traditionally lengthy slideshow presentations by a guest speaker.
Humanoid’s videos form the introduction to a series of workshop exercises encouraging students to consider their post-A-Level options. Answering the most common questions about the university experience, the UCAS application system and student finance, the videos put a friendly face on some typically intimidating subject matter.
