Student Recruitment Roadshow
The Brief
Staffordshire University asked Humanoid to create a video for their Student Recruitment Roadshow, to replace the current presentations with something more interesting. It needed to appeal to a teen audience and make a convincing argument for higher education from a number of pre-determined viewpoints.
The Solution
We worked with the Uni’s student recruitment team to turn their script into a set of interview questions, to prompt the right responses. We shot over 30 interviews and combined the best responses with scripted links by a presenter. The finished video was edited to fit the 11-minute presentation slot.
The Result
Staffs’ new Roadshow video has received a great response in schools and colleges across the country, and seen by thousands of students. The team are thrilled with their exciting new tool, and anticipate an increase in return on the roadshow. Footage from the video is used throughout Staffs’ online video marketing.
After four years of working with Staffordshire University, Humanoid’s latest video project was an opportunity to capture a broader view of the facilities and activities on offer as part of the student experience.
The video was created to address major questions and concerns about university for an audience of teenagers. Shot on location at the university’s campuses in Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford and Shrewsbury, 10-minute presentation combines interviews with dozens of students, footage from every faculty and a wide range of clubs, societies and social events.
It was essential that the video’s message be unrehearsed and authentic, while clearly communicating all of the key information. Humanoid structured interviews to prompt a range of responses on each of the key subjects addressed in the video. These were combined with segments from a scripted presenter to introduce each subject and deliver all of the essential facts & figures.
The video will be played out as part of a university workshop in schools and colleges across the country.
