IoT Moments
The Brief
PR agency Voiceboxx asked Humanoid to produce a short video to support the launch of the Institution of Technology (IoT) programme.
The Solution
Humanoid sent multiple video crews across the West Midlands to shoot partners describing what the IoT meant to them. The footage was edited together alongside a piece to camera and brought to life through exciting footage from the institutions and employers.
The Result
The completed video was shared across all the partners’ social media channels on the IoT’s launch day.
Working in partnership with communications agency Voiceboxx, Humanoid produced a video for the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Institute of Technology (GBSIoT) in record time.
The GBSIoT is a hub for advanced manufacturing and engineering. It brings together a partnership of leading further education colleges, universities, and employers for the region. The aim of the promotional video was to celebrate the launch of the initial wave of twelve Institutes of Technology across the country.
Tasked with only two days to complete the project, Humanoid planned out an efficient schedule to accommodate the constrained timeline. Due to availability conflicts, the team deployed two mobile crews, visiting several education providers and employers across the region. These included: Solihull College, South & City College Birmingham, University College Birmingham, Birmingham Metropolitan College, Aston University, Birmingham City University, University of Birmingham, Worcester Bosh Boilers and Salts Healthcare.
At each location, the team captured a partner holding a GBSIoT board with a word that reflected what The Institute of Technology meant to them. These were edited into a short sequence and combined with an interview from the Deputy Dean of The College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Aston University. The final edit included supporting footage of various partner organisations and a selection of high-end engineering technology shots.
“To meet the deadline, we needed to work smart. From the start we put together a robust plan to ensure we had the flexibility to capture all the content over two days. Once we had all the footage our editing team worked through the night to deliver the video for next day delivery“
–Tom Down, Humanoid’s Project Director
The completed video was used to support the national IoT celebration and helped to raise awareness of programme across social media.
