Black Country Growth Hub
The Brief
The Black Country Growth Hub asked Humanoid to produce a promotional video for their business support network, explaining the range of services available to local companies.
The Solution
Humanoid shot interviews with key team members at Growth Hub HQ, edited together with case study testimonials and footage of their business partners on location.
The Result
The video was launched to a very positive reception. It now sits on the Growth Hub’s home page, to engage first-time visitors and promote the opportunities offered by the Growth Hub.
Humanoid’s latest video introduces the Black Country Growth Hub: a regional support system for startups, growing businesses and companies seeking finance.
The Hub approached Humanoid with a tight deadline and a simple goal: to create a video that explains and reinforces the wide range of far-reaching benefits to the services they offer — which include mentoring, consultancy, training and networking.
The Growth Hub’s key functions were reverse-engineered into a set of interview questions for prominent team members, who were interviewed on location at their headquarters in the Development Centre of the University of Wolverhampton Science Park.
Humanoid made contact with a number of the Hub’s partner companies across the West Midlands, across a range of sectors. Company representatives were interviewed on location about the specific benefits the Growth Hub had brought to their organisation.
“It’s always fascinating how many different industries are thriving on our doorstep, so it was great to get the chance to shoot at so many locations across the Black Country.
Not only that, a number of those companies have now asked us to produce their promotional video — which really proves the power of the Hub’s network!”
—Anthony Thane, Humanoid’s Technical Director
Supporting footage shot on-site at each organisation captured a slice of West Midlands industry in action: from Bilston’s Soda Blasting Ltd stripping paint on Nigel Mansell’s car, to Walsall’s Redbox Signmakers working on 3D signage for West Midlands Safari Park; from Stourbridge-based Cox & Plant’s food processing conveyors to Wolverhampton’s Decorasian and their luxury gift wrap products.
The best of the interviews and case studies were cut together with footage from networking and training events held at the Hub headquarters, with animated logos and captions completing the video.
“Humanoid were very professional throughout the whole process. They understood our complex brief and worked very hard ensuring that all opportunities were maximised.
They delivered an excellent video within very tight deadlines. Since its launch we have had positive feedback and I would have no hesitation in working with the team again.”
