Christmas Timelapse
The Brief
Audi UK’s advertising agency BBH asked Humanoid to produce a 40-second timelapse sequence showing the installation of a Christmas window display at Audi’s Piccadilly showroom.
The Solution
We used two DSLR cameras on a timed robotic glide rail to capture moving timelapse footage over the space of several hours. The sequence was edited within 48 hours for immediate release.
The Result
The resulting clip perfectly fits the running time, and was well received by both BBH and Audi. It was released as part of Audi UK’s Christmas countdown and attracted over 40,000 views.
In the countdown to Christmas, Humanoid have been hired by award-winning advertising agency BBH to shoot a timelapse of Christmas decorations at Audi’s flagship Audi City showroom in Piccadilly.
The luxury car manufacturer commissions Maliki Balinki — the visual merchandising company responsible for many of London’s leading retail brand displays — to create a unique Christmas window arrangement for the Audi showroom each year. This year, huge illuminated stars were suspended in the shop front, featuring tiny scale replicas of the new Audi TT.
Construction took several hours to complete as each window required an elaborate scaffold to be carefully constructed, in close proximity to the display cars.
Humanoid captured the installation overnight using a pair of synchronised DSLR cameras on a programmable glide track. The video went out through the Audi UK social media channels, reaching over forty thousand viewers and counting.
