Building the Tee Press
The Brief
Executives at IPP Group asked Humanoid to create them a promotional video montage for use on trade show stands, with a focus on the installation of their new tee-press: a long-term construction project that took three months to complete.
The Solution
We installed two remotely-operated cameras on site to take HD images of the build every 2 minutes, producing a timelapse sequence. We also sent camera crews to their three UK factories, capturing cinematic video of their facilities and standards.
The Result
IPP were pleased with the results of both the timelapse and video shoot – the footage loops on IPP’s home page and is played out on IPP stands at international expos and events. The timelapse was used to promote their newest upgrade among the industry.
Humanoid have recently completed a long-term timelapse project for industry giant International Piping Products.
Recording the 3-month assembly and installation of the firm’s new £1 million metal press has proven an interesting challenge and required some creative solutions. Our setup – two wall-mounted cameras capturing an extreme wide angle in high definition – records wirelessly to an onsite computer that can be remotely backed-up and the images periodically retrieved for post-processing.
The development of this system has allowed Humanoid to offer unprecedented affordable long-term timelapse solutions, and is already attracting interest from other clients.
“A lot of work has gone into the initial setup but the resulting sequence so far is looking amazing! Taking stills at 4K resolution every 60 seconds means the quality of the images is above and beyond what is usually expected from most common timelapse solutions.
The system is totally self-sufficient and monitored remotely at our offices. This means minimal fuss and keeps production costs down for our clients. Without a shadow of a doubt this setup is perfect for capturing anything over long periods of time.”

The timelapse covers the full length of the construction, with cameras being strategically re-positioned to capture the best perspective of the action throughout.
The sequence was edited as a stand-alone clip for the company, as well as being combined with footage from Humanoid’s factory shoot to form IPP’s full promotional video campaign.
