2013 NEC Finals
The Brief
Organisers of the National Enterprise Challenge asked Humanoid to create an event highlights video of their finals at the London Troxy. The video should promote the awards and capture the day’s atmosphere.
The Solution
We used four small, mobile camera crews to capture the entire day, including talks and student pitches. We interviewed key people involved. A 3-minute edit summarised the excitement of the finals and prizegiving.
The Result
The event organisers were very happy with the completed video, which revealed the full extent of what they had achieved with their first ever awards. They were also able to use it for promotion of the following year’s Challenge.
Humanoid began this July at London’s Troxy theatre, filming the final of the first National Enterprise Challenge.
The NEC is an annual inter-school business contest for Key Stage 3 & 4 students, open to all secondary schools across the UK.
The event was headlined by speaker Lord Alan Sugar and featured big names from the world of business, including Alton Towers’ Mark Kerrigan and Apprentice finalist Claire Young as judges. Competing teams pitched their innovative products to the Dragon’s Den-style panels, the winners in each category being presented their awards by Lord Sugar himself.
Humanoid produced highlights of the event, combining interviews of contestants, speakers and special guests with multi-camera coverage from the ceremony.
